Flash DVD Ripper Tutorial: Rip Your DVDs in 3 Steps Physical DVD collections take up valuable shelf space and risk getting scratched over time. Digitizing your movies is the best way to preserve your media and watch it on modern devices like phones, tablets, or laptops. Flash DVD Ripper provides a lightweight, straightforward solution to convert your discs quickly.
Here is how to rip your entire DVD library into high-quality digital video files using a simple three-step workflow. Step 1: Load Your DVD into the Program
First, insert the movie disc into your computer’s optical drive and launch Flash DVD Ripper.
Look for the Open DVD or Load Disc button, usually located in the top-left corner of the main interface. Click it, and select your DVD drive from the drop-down menu. The software will automatically scan the disc structure, analyze the contents, and display a list of available video titles and chapters.
By default, the program will automatically check the box next to the main feature (the actual movie), saving you the trouble of guessing which title to rip. Step 2: Choose Your Output Format and Audio Settings
Once your disc is loaded, navigate to the bottom of the interface to configure your output settings.
Click on the Output Format profile drop-down menu. For maximum compatibility across almost all modern screens, select MP4 or MKV. If you are tight on storage space, look for profiles utilizing the H.264 or H.265 video codecs, which offer excellent visual quality at smaller file sizes.
Before moving on, check the audio and subtitle tracks listed next to your video title. Make sure to check the box for your preferred language track and select your desired subtitle options so they are burned into the video or saved as a toggleable track. Step 3: Select Destination and Start Ripping
The final step is choosing where to save your new digital file and starting the conversion process.
Locate the Output Directory or Save to field at the bottom of the window. Click Browse to select a specific folder on your hard drive or external storage where you want the finished video to go.
With your destination set, click the large, prominent Convert or Rip button in the lower-right corner. A progress bar will appear, showing you the estimated time remaining. Once the process hits 100%, your drive will spin down, and your digital movie will be ready to watch.
